About the artist
At the heart of Meghan Allard’s figurative work lies a quest to capture the inherent beauty of both the human form and the world around us. She employs a diverse range of techniques, from expressive brushstrokes to spontaneous paint splatters, to create dynamic and uniquely realistic compositions.
Allard’s captivating paintings merge the human figure with elements of nature, crafting narratives that are both thought-provoking and deeply emotional. Her work is influenced by her unique background, which blends a formal education in law and biology with a passion for the arts. Having earned a law degree and a master’s in biology simultaneously, Allard’s practice as a lawyer gave her firsthand insight into how easily individuals can feel disconnected from nature and themselves amid life’s chaos. This realization sparked her return to her first love—art—and set her on a path to explore themes such as identity, mindfulness, life’s purpose, and biological conservation.
Born in Québec, Canada, Allard began her artistic journey with oil painting lessons as a child. She later honed her skills through art classes and workshops with renowned artists, learning how to translate the images in her mind into the physical world. Today, Allard lives and works in Québec, frequently traveling to expand her knowledge and push the boundaries of her creative practice.
